It’s almost here!

The dragon boats will be racing across the Grand Marais Harbor

......before you can say long teng hu yue

We’re helping round out the 17 teams with individual paddlers (you can still sign up, until June 18th), lining up our vendors (several favorites will be back as well as some new vendors), and conducting safety drills on the water with our emergency responders.   Team managers have been notified of practice times, T-shirts are on their way from Ely, and Great Expectations School is honing their pancake-flipping skills….it’s all coming together for a Grrreat weekend!

Be sure to visit the Grand Marais Area Tourism (GMATA) website for things to do, places to stay and eat while you are here for the weekend.  And plan on participating in one of our partners’ Sunday offerings before you head home:  stand-up paddle board demos in the harbor (Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply), kite flying on Artist’s Point (Superior North Outdoors), harbor kayak tours (North Shore Expeditions), an interfaith worship service on the shore (St Andrews Lutheran Church/Mahtomedi), or sail aboard the Hjordis from the North House dock!  Complete details available at the Festival Tent!

See you VERY soon!

              * “roaring dragons, leaping tigers” => lots of activity!
